Acrylic, latex and cockroaches
The word ‘nature’ is impossible to define; it refers to something ephemeral, ambiguous and intangible. People perceive nature
through personal combinations of subjective experience and
cultural narrative. As modern technology removes or perverts
human interaction with the natural world our understanding becomes ever-more confused and conflicted.
I propose a series of hypothetical products that utilise emerging technology and subvert conventional narratives in order to engage people subjectively with nature. Do these artefacts enhance or diminish our relationship with the wild and ultimately how does this inform how we view ourselves?
