My curatorial practice is increasingly focused towards new media art and in the exciting possibilities inherent in immersive experiences and environments.
This interest has been fostered during my placement at the Barbican Art Gallery which has enabled me to work on a wide variety of complex exhibition builds of various formats. While there I have also furthered my understanding of the art exhibition in relationship to a diverse range of audiences and the value in creative programming that is inclusive and stretches across multiple art forms.
Most recent projects I have worked on include Watch Me Move: The Animation Show, a touring animation survey show specially developed by the Barbican and Song Dong: Waste Not. I will be working on rAndom International's Rain Room as my next project.
My personal interest in artistic subcultures (the subsequent topic for my dissertation)has helped me to explore fringe forms of cultural production, such as the computer demoscene, and think about how they could be approached from an art critical discourse for inclusion into wider discursive contexts.
Other independent interests which inform my thoughts on curating practice are my exploration of drawing processes and the different materials and methods present in contemporary draughtsmanship.
